The Appalachian Chamber Music Festival is excited to join audiences for a series of chamber music events at the end of December. Join us in Jefferson County, WV for our first annual Winter Residency! Appalachian Chamber Music Festival melds world-class chamber music performances, collaboration and outreach, with the rich and inspiring history, nature and culture of Harpers Ferry, Charles Town, Jefferson County and surrounding areas. We are all about bringing music to audiences in new, meaningful and accessible ways! We celebrate what is already here on a world stage, while striving to further enrich the region through our shared love of music. We work to elevate and amplify local businesses and organizations as we celebrate and preserve the unique nature, history and culture of the area. After a successful second summer season, we are excited to bring you holiday cheer this winter!

ACMF believes we need music and cultural experiences now more than ever, which is why it is so important to us to bring live in-person performances to our audiences. We are closely monitoring Covid-19 safety protocols and guidelines in the area and are following the safety protocol of the venue. Masks are encouraged.

Bring your loved ones and come celebrate the festive season with us! We’re delighted to open the 2022 Winter Residency in the beautiful setting of historic Zion Episcopal Church in Charles Town. We’re pleased to present a selection of jolly and uplifting music to celebrate the yuletide season. There’s something for everyone in this one-hour, family-friendly concert. Selections include original arrangements by ACMF artist Sinead Frost of some holiday classics, Corelli's Christmas Concerto and “Winter” from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

A concert to warm the body and soul with some foot-tapping favorites and poignant moments of reflection. Join us for an evening of holiday cheer in the inspiring acoustics of Camp Hill Methodist Church in Harpers Ferry. Enjoy beloved works such as "Winter" from Vivaldi's Four Seasons paired with Piazzolla’s tango-inspired “Winter” from the Southern Hemisphere. Come on a journey from darkness into light with Golijov’s “Tenebrae” an audience favorite from our 2021 season. We’ll be continuing the ACMF tradition of performing some beloved works by Danish String Quartet, from their "Wood Works" and "Last Leaf” collections. Expect a few nostalgic holiday tunes thrown in, too.

Ring in the new year with a journey from darkness into light. Inspired by cellist Janos Starker's moniker "Fire and Ice", this Slavic-influenced program features works that will both comfort and excite you as you reflect on the past year as well as provide inspiration for the year to come.
